In summer 2011, I went to a day festival where SBTRKT - Wildfire was on repeat. A few hours later it was dark and I was wobbling outside the Haggerston waiting for a minicab. I waited ages, watching a strangely empty A10.

When the cabbie finally got there, he said it was all kicking off, they were burning police cars in Tottenham and there was a riot coming.

"Bloody Immigrants" I said, "that radical Leftist Mayor BoJo is to blame. The streets aren't safe any more!"

The next night, when the rest of London burned, and the Police couldn't hold it down, man like Mehmet did. Along with hundreds of other kebabis and shopkeepers, on Kingsland rd, and across Stokey and North London. Stood out on road, ready to defend against angry kids burning and robbing everything around. They ensured there was not a smashed window or business ruined.

This tee is appreciation, not just for the delicious food, but for the cornerstones of community.
