The Roman poet Juvenal said Emperors needed to give citizens bread and circus to stave off revolt. He was right. We love bread and distraction. It's far better than getting annoyed about the constant lying, depreciating living standards or global injustice.
This edition pays homage to the sport of American throwball, which I once watched. It was like rugby mixed with musical theatre and a lot of cocaine. When the half time show is more important than the result, you know you're on to a winner.
